Clay Walker & Bike Team ride to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis
Multi-platinum recording artist Clay Walker
and the Band Against MS (BAMS) bike team participated in the annual BP MS150
bike ride in Houston last weekend, raising more than $130,000 for the National
MS Society (NMSS) and BAMS.
Walker
served as the ride’s grand marshal and sang the national anthem before the ride’s
start on April 17. Traveling 180 miles during the two-day ride, the 108-rider
team pedaled their way to one of the top fundraising teams of the ride. This is
the largest team BAMS has had to date at the BP MS150 ride. Of the $130,000
raised, $104,655 will go to the NMSS with $29,000 going toward BAMS to further
their mission of funding research to find a cure for MS.
Organized
by the NMSS’s Lone Star Chapter, the BP MS150 is the largest charity bike ride of
its kind in the United States and takes riders from Houston to Austin, Texas.
